OUR MISSION AND VISION
To create high quality sustainably focused products whilst making the world a cleaner and better place for all that call it home. We are focused on building a community of like-minded paddlers and adventurers, that together through our collective efforts can instil a sense of responsibility within the SUP community to protect the very environment we play within.
We’ve taken a step back, had a beer, watched how other brands have been doing things, and then decided to do it better but with sustainability at the heart. In 2017 we launched Sea Lion and have been tirelessly developing and innovating our paddle boards. We didn’t want to just produce high quality products designed for the paddlers by paddlers, but also design and create the most sustainable paddle products on the planet. We shall always push to be the most sustainable and innovating SUP brand and at no point will sustainability or quality be compromised at any level of the Sea Lion business.
WHY SEA LION
We donate 5% of our profits towards Sea Lion conservation and ocean clean up organisations to keep our world clean of growing plastic pollution. You don't need to sign anything or pay anything extra, leave it to us to give back to nature on your behalf. Sustainability is and will always be at the forefront of our thinking when it comes down to every aspect of the business, from our paddles to our apparel, even our business cards!
Meet the tribe...
Will, the jack of all trades when it comes to business and design. Would probably win the apprentice if he wasn't too busy being a nerd or playing rugby. His love for egg (rugby ball) chasing has seen him described as a poor mans Martin Johnson, but certainly a better looking one. With a talent for droneography and photography, he knows his fair share of tech... just not as much as Zak.

Cory 'Rosie' LeisNorth America/Board Development
Cory, affectionately known as Rosie, is an outdoor adventurer and lifestyle photographer from the ‘not so small anymore’ hamlet of Whistler, BC, Canada. Work tends to get in the way with this fun-loving chap, at any moments notice he’s in his VW Van, boards loaded, tunes cranked on his way to paddle somewhere out of the way, more often than not to surf. Cory’s brought his environmental ethos and creativity into the heart of the design of Sea Lion boards. He’s much funnier than the UK boys, and quite a handsome devil.
And our adventure ambassadors...
Usually found in the water, at the gym or behind a camera chasing sunsets. His love for Watersports started growing up on the beach at Bantham. Combining this with his love for travel, he has been all over the world Surfing and Wakeboarding and continues to fly around the globe any chance he gets. Also he is always pushing the limits of his Video/Photography and is a 2 x GoPro Award Winner.- Ben Ward
The feeling of paddling through areas that had before been thought of as inaccessible to the SUP crowd. Recognizing that you are both totally inconsequential to, and have an opportunity to profoundly affect, the unique water ways of our world. Sharing, fortering an appreciation for and educating others about this special bond we can achieve. These are the things that first inspired me to be a SUP enthusiast.- Chris Glavin
I spent a lot of my childhood swimming at Exmouth beach, which is where I found my love with the ocean. You may see me flying down the ski slope or free diving along the south west coast. I don’t let my deafness stop me from achieving big things such as skiing in the USA, cycling the Norwegian fjords or climbing all 14 peaks at Snowdonia mountains in 2 days. Love a challenge!- Sam Pyne
- Christina Tottle
An adventurous soul at heart, Christina loves to travel to new places and discover new things, especially when SUP is involved. She’s a passionate yogi and enjoys the fresh perspective that paddling brings to her everyday life. "I’m happy on the water no m atter what," says Christina. "And I’m excited about learning more and traveling to more amazing spots in the world to paddle. It also brings be great joy to watch my daughter blossom from a tiny baby sitting on the front of my board to her now padding her own SUP. Christina lives in Whistler, BC with her partner (fellow Sea Lion ambassador Todd Lawson) and their young daughter Seanna. There they explore a watery abundance of alpine lakes, coastal and island touring routes and plenty of fun rivers.
It was only four years ago that I first jumped on my friend Karine’s SUP. Right away I was hooked as it gave me the opportunity to enjoy the Sea to Sky's many bodies of water from a unique perspective. Getting away from the crowded beaches in the summer and hopping from one lake to another offers me a workout and the chance to catch up with friends surrounded by the beautiful mountain views. Having a small car I really benefit from owning an inflatable board, moving it around and storing it is a breeze. When I heard that I could join a crew of paddlers that would use environmentally friendly made SUPs I was stoked! It’s an honour to be part of Sea Lion's Tribe!- Julie Michel
I’ve always loved immersing myself in nature. This is where I recharge my batteries. Paddleboarding has changed my life in ways that it opened up a new world of discovery. The opportunity to get out there and explore places I never thought I would experience and admire the natural beauties of this world from the water. It’s an amazing way to bond with people, other cultures and our environment. It has deepened my love and connection of the ocean, lakes and rivers. Everyday, it inspires me to live my life more sustainably and I wish I can inspire others to do the same. I am so proud to be part of a tribe of like minded individuals who shares many of the same values and have embrace the joy that SUP’ing can bring.- Karine Choiniere
I have always been a water - baby. Being immersed in or on a body of water takes me into a state of mind where nothing else matters . It’s the natural flow and movement of water that carries me and it also teaches me how to live my life and to just "go with the flow". I was lucky to be introduced to SUP 10 years ago and after my first paddle stroke there was no turning back. The sweet freedom it offers is undeniable from paddling glassy lakes, down rivers and down winders, surf ing Ocean waves to touring from campsite to campsite and sea life exploring . My SUP even takes me to my yoga practice and not to mention provides me the best afternoon siesta bed I can ever ask for.- Marie-Soleil Boisvert
- Rich Benson
Living on the opposite side of a lake from the liquor store, Rich uses his SUP as his primary means of transportation on a Friday evening. In addition to this impressive pastime, paddle boarding also quenches his thirst for adventure. Whether it be exploring BC's coastline, cruising mountain lakes, or getting his butt kicked on river rapids, Rich believes there's nothing like the freedom and excitement of jumping on a board and lapping up what nature has to offer.
The sense of true exploration has fuelled Todd’s passion for paddling. He has helped pioneer the sport of whitewater SUP in Western Canada and has collaborated on a number of different SUP expeditions — from multi - day river descents to wave - hunting, open - ocean epics and extended family adventures in several countries throughout the world. His passion for discovery of new places and friendly faces has taken him to 62 countries and counting, most recently with SUP and paddle in hand. Seeking new places to paddle throughout the world and in his own incredible backyard in British Columbia is where his heart lies.- Todd Lawson
